Sep 11, 2016 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Join us on September 11, 2016, to walk and contemplate world peace! This 5K walk begins at 9:00 AM at the end of the Max Orange Line, at Southeast McLoughlin Blvd. and Park Ave. Walkers can begin the walk any time up to 4:00 PM. The Peace Walk will follow the Trolley Trail North, through Milwaukie Riverfront Park, through Downtown Milwaukie, then back. The route will be marked, and route maps will be available at the start / finish. There is a suggested donation of $3.00, which is tax-deductible and will help fund peace projects by the Peacebuilding committee of the Rotary Club of Milwaukie, Oregon. Projects include planting Peace Poles around Milwaukie, the Milwaukie Peace Walk, co-hosting the regional Rotary Peace Symposium and supporting anti-bullying and human trafficking awareness and deterrence, locally. |

Please join the Rotary Club of Milwaukie on Saturday, September 17 at 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and help clear invasive species from Elk Rock Island. We'll be partnering with Portland Parks & Recreation to help beautify this amazing treasure right here in our city's "front yard". Please plan to dress weather-appropriate; including closed-toe shoes. Tools will be provided. This is a great opportunity to explore Elk Rock Island and see what Rotarians At Work is really all about. |

Join us as we serve as Intersection Superhero volunteers. Every single intersection along the course must be monitored by a volunteer. The job is simple, but important – we must help out neighbors who are affected by the closed streets. Our club will be working at the intersection of SE 29th & SE Monroe and HWY 224 & SE Monroe!

Oct 15, 2016 8:45 AM - 12:00 PM
The Rotarians should be at Station 5, 9339 SE Causey Ave Happy Valley, by 8:45am for the instruction time. From there the group will go to Linwood Mobile Estates, 10523 SE Linwood Ave Milwaukie, no earlier than 10:00am. The actual installation time is between 10:00am-12:00pm. We finish once we either run out of smoke alarms or make contact with all the units. The park has 22 occupied homes and it is a 55 and over community. Based on the size I don’t think it’ll take 2 hours to complete the park. We do have a limited number of step stools and drills to use for the campaign. It’s a good idea if volunteers have their own equipment to bring it in case we run out. |
