Progress was made on Rotary Club of Milwaukie, Oregon’s downtown Bump-out project “Paths to Pollinators Rotary Network” pollinator corridor. The non-native shrubs removed were adopted by a good home. Thank you for your generosity of time and labor! Let the rains and growing season begin…

Milwaukie Rotary "DodgeFathers" Dodge Ball Team!
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie was excited to participate in again in the return of the Milwaukie High School "Milwaukie Cares" Week Dodge Ball Tournament! In addition to playing in tournament, the Rotary Club of Milwaukie donates funds to support the "Milwaukie Cares" Week canned food drive supporting the Wichita Center for Family & Community.

March 2023 "Adopt-A-Road" Clean up Volunteers!
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie would like to thank all the amazing volunteers that joined us at the March "Adopt-A-Road" clean up of Lake Road today! Special thanks to the Lake Road NDA for providing the hot coffee & pastries, and to all the terrific students from Milwaukie High School/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts & Rowe Middle School that also participated. Despite the weather, our volunteers picked up trash along SE Lake Rd, as well as the campuses of Milwaukie High School & Rowe Middle School.

ASPIRE helps students become career & college ready by offering education and resources through mentoring opportunities from people just like you! Student support include 1:1 & group mentoring, activities that focus on career exploration, career & college research, admissions applications, scholarships & financial aid.

"Feed the Hungry" January 2023 Volunteer Event!
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie would like to thank all our members & friends who joined us to support the "Feed the Hungry" program that operates every Sunday in downtown Milwaukie. "Feed the Hungry" serves a warm, home-cooked meal to anyone that needs it here in our community. City of Milwaukie Umbrella Parade & Holiday Tree Lighting Event!
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie was excited for the return of the City of Milwaukie's Umbrella Parade & Holiday Tree lighting event! In addition to helping purchase refreshments for the event, this year club members & friends were again able to volunteer by handing out cookies, cocoa and cider to parade goers & spectators.

"Shop With A Cop" Holiday Event Volunteers!
Members of the Rotary Club of Milwaukie, Oregon were excited to again participate in supporting the Clackamas County Peace Officers Benevolent Foundation's "Shop With A Cop" event this year by helping wrap gifts for the children who participated in the experience. Each year, the CCPOBF sponsors children throughout Clackamas County who typically have had some sort of interaction with law enforcement and pairs them with uniformed officers to "Shop With A Cop" for holiday gifts. This year, the CCPOBF was able to provide this experience for over 160 children! LoveOne Milwaukie November Volunteer Event
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie would like to thank LoveOne Milwaukie and all our members & friends that came out to help with the November South event for LoveOne Milwaukie. In addition to providing up to 3 loads of clean laundry, LoveOne Milwaukie provides our neighbors in need with a variety of toiletries/hygiene supplies, blankets, hand warmers, as well as access to a variety of on-site social services! "Feed the Hungry" October Volunteer Event
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie, Oregon had a terrific time today cooking & serving meals at the weekly "Feed the Hungry" program that takes place every Sunday, at 2:00 PM from the kitchen at the St. John's Episcopal Church. Over 75 meals were cooked and served at today's event to those in need right here in our community. "May Peace Prevail on Earth"
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie recently installed our club's latest "Peace Pole" on the campus of Willamette View in our club's continuing efforts to support Rotary International's on-going Peacebuilding Club mission to support projects that promote peace and conflict resolution, involves youth in peace projects and provides financial assistance to the Rotary Peace Centers that train Rotary Peace Fellows and Rotary Peace Scholars.
The "Peace Pole" Project began in the mid-1950s by Mr. Mashisa Goi, of Japan, whose family was greatly affected by WWII. Mr. Goi dedicated his life to spreading the idea “may peace prevail on Earth.” There have been over 200,000 Peace Poles planted, worldwide, and there are Peace Poles planted in nearly every nation on Earth. District 5100 is the most active Rotary district in the world and the Rotary Club of Milwaukie has installed dozens of "Peace Poles" throughout the city of Milwaukie and surrounding community that include schools, city buildings & private business.

CAReFREE Sunday Milwaukie
We had a great time out supporting the return of CAReFREE Milwaukie today! Our club hosted a "Hydration Station"; providing cold water & treats to the many who came out to participate in today's event. A special bonus: Our host property-owner provided some excellent LIVE music! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to cool down and enjoy their community with us.

2022 "Dr. Howard Anderson/Tim DeShields Scholarship" Award Winner La Reina Canty!
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie, Oregon is excited to announce this year's recipient of our Foundation's "Dr. Howard Anderson/Tim DeShields Scholarship" in the amount of $5,000 is La Reina Canty. As a graduating Senior at Milwaukie High School, La Reina is a National Honor Society member, has been involved in numerous school athletics, held down a part-time job, and has a notable history of local community service work here in our Milwaukie community. La Reina has indicated that she intends to pursue a 4 year degree that will allow her to become an elementary school teacher, where she hopes to make an impact in the lives of other young people like her teachers have for her.
The Rotary Club of Milwaukie's Foundation presents one $5,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Milwaukie High School/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts each year. Thank you to all of this year's qualified applicants and congratulations to La Reina Canty.
