LoveOne Milwaukie
Jan 19, 2022 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
LoveOne Milwaukie seeks to bring economic relief by giving the individual or family the option to redirect funds toward food, medical, gas or transportation costs as well as school supplies and other basic, everyday necessities.  They accomplish this by providing up to 3 loads of clean laundry to participants, as well as providing a warm meal, toiletries and other resources.
Volunteers serve a variety of roles; serving food, handing out toiletries & other essential items, managing laundry resources, and by simply providing a friendly reminder to those in need that we care.

RYLA Program

Mar 29, 2022

RYLA is a week-long leadership retreat designed to grow and encourage service-oriented leaders within our communities. Participant attendance is sponsored by local Rotary clubs. The program dedicates time to take a holistic approach to leadership development. During the week it covers everything from family and relationships to personal finance and professional development. While there is a full day that's dedicated as "professional day," there are themes that run through the whole week which have an immediate and lasting impact on professional development. For those just entering the workforce and growing their careers, there is a wealth of value.

The Rotary Connection

Rotary is one of the largest international service associations, with some 34,000 clubs in more than 200 countries. Its members are dedicated to humanitarian service, high ethical standards and promotion of world understanding and peace.
One of the goals of Rotary is to help young people develop their leadership abilities and self-confidence to the fullest.
To accomplish that goal, Rotary clubs host thousands of young leaders through Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) programs each year. Rotarians who are business and professional achievers organize RYLA events.
Rotary clubs also sponsor other complimentary programs for young people. They include:

  • Rotaract, a service club for young adults
  • Interact, a service club for secondary school students
  • Youth Exchange, a chance to live and study abroad
  • Ambassadorial Scholarships, for university or post-university study abroad
