Oki Doki is a small, woman-owned manufacturing company based in Portland that assists financially disadvantaged individuals, who for a variety of reasons are unable to find & keep employment in traditional away-from-home-employment, with the means to produce products from their own homes.

Join us in downtown Milwaukie at Chan's Steakery, in their bar, for a special 'Happy Hour' event on January 19th. Chan's will be hosting Karaoke special for us on this night starting at 7:00PM. Please bring a guest! Even if you don't karaoke come along to cheer on your fellow club members and just have a great time enjoying each other's company. There will be appetizers and the club will purchase guests' first drink. Please RSVP by signing up so we can have a head count for food and to let Chan's know how many to expect. See you all there!

ASPIRE can help students explore education options, assist with college applications and essays, help meet deadlines, and provide resources for scholarships and financial aid. Nathan will also provide information opportunities for our members & guests can volunteer to help "mentor" students using the ASPIRE resources.

Please join us on Tuesday, February 28 at our regular club meeting when we welcome fellow Milwaukie Rotarian, Colleen Rockwell as our featured speaker. Colleen will be presenting to our club on "Supporting the environment & how our club can participate", as well as updating us on her developing local community service project that involves our club's adoption of a Main St. landscaping parklet!

Join us Saturday, March 4th at the Rowe Middle School parking lot for our quarterly clean up of SE Lake Rd. and around the Rowe Middle School & Milwaukie High School campuses.  All tools & equipment will be provided at this family-friendly event. Just dress weather appropriately!

2023 MARCH MADNESS BRACKET-CHALLENGE

Let the MADNESS begin...

The Rotary Club of Milwaukie is hosting a March Madness Bracket Challenge and anyone can participate. **As a special bonus this year, the overall winner of the Bracket Challenge will not only walk away with their prize money, but the additional funds raised will be donated to the approved non-profit/501c3 organization of their choice!!

Selection Sunday is March 12, 2023 at which time you can submit as many brackets as you'd like until 1st tip of the games beginning March 16, 2023 at 9:15 am. Each bracket submission will cost only $25 per entry and you can enter as many as you'd like!

Payouts: Of the $25 fee per bracket; $12.50 will go to non-profit/501c3 organization of the winner's choice and the remaining $12.50/per bracket will be pursed with the winner receiving 75% & 2nd place 25%. For example: 20 brackets/entries; $250 to the non-profit organization; $187.50 to the 1st place winner; $62.50 to the 2nd place winner; Priceless bragging rights included!!

Rules: Round #1 games: 1 pt. Round #2 games: 2 pts. Round #3 games: 4 pts. Round #4 games: 8 pts. Round #5 games: 16 pts. Round #6 games: 32 pts.

John Wentworth is the Clackamas County District Attorney (DA), and joined the office in 1999 after a four-year tenure as a deputy district attorney in Coos County. A Clackamas High School graduate, John is proud to call Clackamas County home again.  John will discuss what the DA's office is doing to address current criminal justice issues & homelessness in our county.

The 2023 Rotary Spring Training Event at the 'New' Sherwood High School on Sat., Apr. 22 is going to be great!  We have a lineup of wonderful workshops and training opportunities, as well as a new concept called 'Birds of a Feather' for you to participate in.

We have some post training activities, so bring your family and plan on staying after the event.  Langers Entertainment Center, the premier family entertainment center in Sherwood, has offered us space to fellowship after our day of training, complete with snacks AND a $25 game card for every attendee.  You can bowl, climb the rock wall, play laser tag, do the rope challenge course and much more. 

The Rotary Spring Training Event is MORE than training, it is a time to connect and fellowship with your fellow District 5100 Rotarians as we TOGETHER create HOPE in the world!

The weekend will start with a Peace Summit on Thursday, May 18th, and continue through Sunday, May 21st, with inspirational speakers, Club and District  Recognition and Awards, highlights on club projects, breakout sessions to explore and learn more about relevant topics, and lots of opportunities to make new friendships and enjoy fellowship with Rotarians from Oregon, Washington, and Canada.

Relay For Life is the world's largest volunteer-based fundraising event. For more then 36 years, communities across the world have come together to honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change. We strive to make this event as safe as possible and will follow local COVID related guidelines.

At Relay For Life you'll find community members taking turns walking around a track lined with luminaria bags. You'll have the opportunity to cheer for local survivors (or participate as a survivor) in our first lap of the day. Caregivers of cancer patients (currently or previously diagnosed) will then be invited to join the Survivors. Local entertainers will keep you energized. As it gets dark, we will light the luminaria bags surrounding the track in a memorable luminaria ceremony. There will be opportunities to fundraise & fight back!
